  • Display screen — The screen on which output from a computer is displayed. Also referred to as a Monitor. Older computers used a Cathode Ray Tube, which is essentially the same as that used in older domestic TV sets. Newer types of display screens are of the LCD or TFT flat panel type - like many modern TV sets. They are much lighter, use less electricity and take up less room on your desk.
